Additional information

Green liquor is highly alkaline (pH > 12) clear aqueous greenish UVCB liquid, odour characteristic of sulphur-containing compounds. It is completely miscible in water and typically contains ca. 80 % water (75% water at minimum). The melting temperature is ca. - 5 - -15 °C and the boiling temperature is ca. 105 °C. The vapour pressure is 2425 (at 20°C) and density is ca. 1.15 g/cm3 for a typical GL which contains 82% water. Green liquor is not oxidising, explosive or flammable. It may release volatile and flammable H2S gas if pH of the solution is lowered to neutral or acidic. Dynamic viscosity is 2.712 mPa · s at 20 °C for a GL which contains 82 % water.
