Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Test results of Green liquor (GL1 and GL2 samples) are available for short-term aquatic acute toxicity (algae, invertebrates and fish). Long term invertebrate (Daphnia magna) reproduction test is also available (GL3 sample). All the test results are valid and the identity of test material is the same as the registered substance. To avoid unnecessary use of fish, a threshold approach according to OECD guidance document ("The Threshold Approach for Acute Fish Toxicity Testing", December 2009) was applied.

All the tests on Green liquor were carried out applying nominal test substance concentrations and results are reported on a wet weight basis (dilution water included) and/or on a dry weight basis (dilution water excluded) of the test substances.

Test results:

"1" is GL1 -sample (contains 17.7% dry solids/82.3% water by weight)

"2" is GL2 -sample (contains 18.7% dry solids/81.3% water by weight)

"3" is GL3 sample (contains 19.6% dry solids/80.4% water by weight) (all at 20 deg. C))

Algae (Pseudokirchnerella subcapitata):

1 EC50 (72h) 1380 mg/l (wwt) (growth rate) 244 mg/L (dw.)

1 NOEC (72h) 210 mg/l (wwt) ( (growth rate)) 37 mg/L (dw.)

2 EC50 (72h) 1230 mg/l (wwt) (growth rate) 230 mg/L (dw.)

2 NOEC (72h) 332 mg/l (wwt) (growth rate) 62 mg/L (dw)

Aq. invertebrate (Daphnia magna):

1 EC50 (48h) 9 mg/l (wwt), 1.6 mg/l (dw)

1 NOEC (48h) < 3.1 mg/l (wwt), < 0.55 mg/l (dw)

3 NOEC (21 d): 2.4 mg/L test mat. (dw - dry weight) (nominal) based on: reproduction

2 EC50(48h) 40 mg/l (wwt), 7.5 mg/l (dw)

2 NOEC (48h) 6.2 mg/l (wwt), 1.2 mg(l (dw)

Fish (Danio rerio):

1 LC50 (96h) > 9 mg/l (wwt), > 1.6 mg/l (dw)
