Additional information

One study according to OECD 202 is available investigating the short-term effects of Milori blue (CAS 25869-00-5) to Daphnia magna. The study duration was only 24 h (Tamura, 1996). Due to the insolubility of the test substance in water (< 0.02 mg/L), the test solutions were prepared using a solvent. The maximum concentration forming a suitable dispersion was 500 mg/L (with a maximum vehicle level of 100 mg/L) and this was the maximum concentration used in the test. The EC50 (24 h) for Milori blue was determined as > 500 mg/L with a NOEC (24 h) of 100 mg/L. Due to the shorter test duration which is not in accordance with todays standard methods and the insolubility of the test substance a long-term study with Daphnia magna according to OECD 211 was proposed. However, due to technical deficiencies the result of this new study is not yet available.
