Description of key information

Waiving.

The substance is a salt and completely dissociates in water; it is in its ionic form within environmentally relevant pH values.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The substance is a salt; the dye part is cationic (pyridinium rings and protonated tertiary amines) and the counter ions are chloride ions (derived from HCl).

Based on the high water solubility, the substance is assumed to be completely dissociated in water. Moreover, within environmentally relevant pH values, i.e. in the range 4-9, the substance is present in its ionic form, based on the molecular structure and pKa values of tertiary amines, typically > 9.5 -10.
