Accuracy checking

The calibration of the instrument was verified at 20.0 °C with chlorobenzene as a reference substance just before the determinations. The results were as follows:

Chlorobenzene:

reference value: 1.106 g/mL

instrument reading: 1.106 g/mL

The results are within the precision of the instrument (± 0.001 g/mL).

 

Density determination

The results obtained with test item at 20.0 °C were:

First sample: p = 1.032 g/mL

Second sample: p = 1.032 g/mL

Average (rounded off): p = 1.032 g/mL or : D(20,4) = 1.032. The estimated precision is: ± 0.001 g/mL.

Executive summary:

A study was conducted according to OECD TG 109, Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 method A.3 and OPPTS 830.7300 to determine the relative density of the test item. Therefore, the density was measured at a temperature of 20 °C ± 0.01 °C using the oscillating densitometer. An initial calibration with chlorobenzene was carried out. Subsequently two independent measurements of the test item were performed. The mean relative density of the test item at 20 °C with respect to water at 4 °C was determined to be 1.032. No observations were made which cause doubt on the validity of the outcome of the study.
