Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

This study was performed in order to determine the melting point or the melting range of PPDA. The melting point is one of the fundamental physico-chemical properties of a chemical substance. The test item was heated with a defined heating rate until melting/ decomposition of the test item was observed. The start temperature was determined in a pre-test.
The study was conducted in accordance with the following guideline:  OECD Guideline for the Testing of Chemicals No. 102 dated 27. July 1995 “Melting Point / Melting Range“.
The determination was performed in duplicate. In both determinations, a melting range was detected.
The melting range was determined as 156.2 to 179.2 °C (429.4 to 452.4 K) under decomposition.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Melting / freezing point at 101 325 Pa:
156.2 °C

Additional information

The melting range was determined as 156.2 to 179.2 °C (429.4 to 452.4 K) under decomposition.
