Description of key information

According to CLP (Regulation 1272/2008) criteria, FAT 20202 is classified as acute and chronic aquatic Category 1.

Additional information

Short-term toxicity tests are available for all the three tropic levels (fish, invertebrates and aquatic plants). In a 96 h acute fish toxicity test, the test substance FAT 20202 was observed to have 96 h LC50 to Rainbow trout 0.13 mg/L. Similarly in a study conducted according to OECD Guideline 202, the 48 h EC50 value of the test substance FAT 20202 to Daphnia magna was determined to be 33.4 mg/L. FAT 20202/E is slightly toxic to Daphnia magna after 48 hours. Further, in a GLP-compliant OECD Guideline 221 study, Lemna gibba (Duckweed) were exposed to the test item FAT 20202 for 7 days. In this study, ErC50 based upon the frond number was 26 mg/L, EC50 based upon the frond numbers was 4.4 mg/L, ErC50 based upon the frond dry weight is 41 mg/L, while EyC50 based upon the frond dry weight is 3.6 mg/L.Therefore, it can be concluded that there were no toxic effects at saturation. A key toxicity study of FAT 20202 to activated sludge was determined in a 3-hours respiration inhibition test. The IC50 value of the test substance FAT 20202 was 100 mg/L.
