Description of key information
Additional information
Appearance:
Based on available data from reliable handbook, the appearance of chemical 5-amino-2-anilinobenzenesulfonic acid was Needle like crystals.
Other supporting data from from safety data sheet also indicates that the chemical 5-amino-2-anilinobenzenesulfonic acid was organic solid in appearance.
Melting point:
Based on available data from Danish QSAR study, the melting point of chemical 5-amino-2-anilinobenzenesulfonic acid was estimated to be198.17 degree C.
Boiling point:
Based on available data from Danish QSAR study, the melting point of chemical 5-amino-2-anilinobenzenesulfonic acid was estimated to be469.1 degree C.
Density:
Based on data available fromChemspider - ACD/PhysChem Suite ,the density of chemicalBenzenesulfonic acid, 5-amino-2-(phenylamino)- was predicted to be 1.5±0.1 g/cm3.
Particle Size Distribution:
The particle size distribution of test item Benzenesulfonic acid, 5-amino-2-(phenylamino)- was determined by granulometric analysis. The particle size distribution was found to be in the range of 150 micron to 25 micron.
Vapour Pressure:
Modified Grain method was used to estimate the vapour pressure of Benzenesulfonic acid, 5-amino-2-(phenylamino)using MPBPVP v1.43 of EPI SUITE. The estimated vapor pressure of Benzenesulfonic acid, 5-amino-2-(phenylamino)at 25°C was 3.24E-009 Pa.
Partition coefficient:
KOWWIN v1.68 was used to estimate the octanol water partition coefficient of the test chemical. The estimated log Pow of theBenzenesulfonic acid, 5-amino-2-(phenylamino)-was -1.33.
Based on the value, it can be considered thatBenzenesulfonic acid, 5-amino-2-(phenylamino)- is hydrophillic in water, which also supported by its solubility in water.
Water Solubility:
WSKOW v1.42 was used to estimate the water solubility ofBenzenesulfonic acid, 5-amino-2-(phenylamino)-.
The estimated water solubility of Benzenesulfonic acid, 5-amino-2-(phenylamino)-was estimated as 2710mg/l at 25 deg C. This value suggests that Benzenesulfonic acid, 5-amino-2-(phenylamino)- is soluble in water.
Flash point:
The flash point determination of benzenesulfonic acid, 5-amino-2-(phenylamino)-(CAS No. 91-30-5) was done following closed cup method using Pensky-Martens flash point apparatus. The mean flash point was determined to be 254 degree C.
Based on the result the benzenesulfonic acid, 5-amino-2-(phenylamino)- was considered to be non-flammable as per the CLP regulation.
Surface Tension:
In accordance with column 2 of Annex VII of the REACH regulation, the study need only be conducted if surface activity is a desired property of the chemical. The chemical Benzenesulfonic acid, 5-amino-2-(phenylamino)- finds use as Dyestuff Intermediates. For this use, surface activity is not a desired property. Hence this study was considered for waiver.
Auto-flammability:
5-amino-2-anilinobenzenesulfonic acid did not catch fire on being exposed to air at room temperature of 27°C and atmospheric pressure of 966 hPa. This indicates that 5-amino-2-anilinobenzenesulfonic acid is not auto-flammable.
Flammability:
The chemical Benzenesulfonic acid, 5-amino-2-(phenylamino) has NFPA rating for Flammability reported to be 0. This suggests low likelihood of the chemical being flammable. Hence this end point was considered for waiver & Benzenesulfonic acid, 5-amino-2-(phenylamino) is classified as "Non Flammable" for chemical safety assessment.
Explosiveness:
In accordance with column 2 of Annex VII of the REACH regulation, the study does not need to be conducted since there are no chemical groups associated with explosive properties present in the molecule of Benzenesulfonic acid, 5-amino-2-(phenylamino). Thus, this end point was considered for waiver and Benzenesulfonic acid, 5-amino-2-(phenylamino) is considered to be "Non explosive".
Oxidising Properties:
In accordance with column 2 of Annex VII of the REACH regulation, the substance Benzenesulfonic acid, 5-amino-2-(phenylamino) is incapable of reacting exothermically with combustible materials on the basis of the chemical structure. It is an organic substance containing oxygen atoms and no halogen atoms. Also, the oxygen atoms are not chemically bonded to nitrogen or oxygen. Thus, Benzenesulfonic acid, 5-amino-2-(phenylamino) is likely to be "Non-oxidising".
Viscosity:
In accordance with Section 2 of REACH Annex XI, information requirement section 7.17, this study cannot be conducted on solid materials or gases. According to ECHA Chapter 7 guidance, viscosity measurement is only relevant to liquids. The chemical Benzenesulfonic acid, 5-amino-2-(phenylamino) is a crystalline solid.Hence this study can be considered for waiver.
