Description of key information

The logarithmic adsorption coefficent, log Koc, of octane-1-thiol was read across from tert-dodecanethiol and was estimated to be 3.6 using the HPLC method.

Additional information

The Koc of octane-1 -thiol was read across from tert-dodecanethiol. Mollandin (2010) is a GLP-compliant adsorption study on soil/ sewage sludge, using high performance liquid chromatography, following OECD guideline 121. It is considered reliable and suitable for use as a key study. This result would indicate that octane-1 -thiol would adsorb strongly to soils and sediments.
