Conclusion on classification

The substance has reliable short-term E(L)C50 values of 0.326 mg/L for fish, 0.0243 mg/L for invertebrates and 0.03297 mg/L for algae. It has reliable long-term NOEC values of 0.00108 mg/L for invertebrates and 0.010412 mg/L for algae.

The substance is not readily biodegradable.

These data are consistent with the following classification under Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (as amended) (CLP):

Acute toxicity: Aquatic Acute 1, based on the lowest E(L)C50 value ≤ 1 mg/L (according to Annex I, Table 4.1.0, Section A of the CLP guidance). An M factor of 10 is applied, as the lowest E(L)C50 value is > 0.01 mg/L and ≤ 0.1 mg/L (according to Annex I, Table 4.1.3 of the CLP guidance).

Chronic toxicity: Aquatic Chronic 1, based on the lowest NOEC value ≤ 0.1 mg/L and the lowest E(L)C50 value is ≤ 1 mg/L (according to Annex I, Table 4.1.0, Sections B(i)) and B(iii) of the CLP guidance, respectively. An M factor of 10 is applied, as the lowest NOEC is > 0.01 mg/L and ≤ 0.1 mg/L (according to Annex I, Table 4.1.3 of the CLP guidance).
