In a local lymph node assay performed according to OECD guideline 429, hydoxyethyl-p-phenylenediamine sulfate induced a biologically relevant immune response in the vehicle DMSO with an EC3 value of 0.57%. Under the conditions of the test, the substance was categorised as a strong sensitiser. According to CLP criteria the substance is classified as skin sens. category 1A along with hazard statement H317 : may cause an allergic skin reaction.
