Description of key information

Using DSC, exothermic decomposition of the test substance was observed at a temperature of 256°C (exothermic decomposition energy: 652 J/g). The substance was determined to be not explosive when exposed to thermal stress or to mechanical stress (by shock) Therefore, this substance, a polyfunctional polyaziridine, based on TMPTA and propylene imine, should be considered to present no danger of explosion.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Explosiveness:
non explosive

Additional information

The study was performed in accordance with EC A.14, UN and EPA OPPTS 830.6316 guidelines and according to the principles of GLP.

Justification for classification or non-classification

According to CLP Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 including its amendments, the substance does not have to be classified for explosive properties.
