The abiotic degradation of the substance by hydrolysis was investigated in a study according to OECD guideline 111. The test was performed at different pH values of 4, 7 and 9. The study demonstrated an increasing hydrolysis rate with increasing pH and temperature. Fast hydrolysis with DT50 values ≤ 2.4 days was determined at pH 9 at 20 and 30 °C, respectively. At neutral pH and a temperature of 20 °C a half-life of 3.6 days was determined for the substance. The biodegradability of the substance was tested in a study following OECD guideline OECD 301B. Based on the CO2 evolution a degradation rate of 8% after 28 days was determined. Based on the test results the substance is not readily biodegradable according to OECD criteria.
