Description of key information

Self-ignition is not considered to be of relevance for substance Fatty acids, C8 -10, zinc salts.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The study does not need to be conducted for a solid substance that has a melting point < 160 °C, or if preliminary results exclude self-heating of the substance up to 400 °C (cf. Annex VII, section 7.12, column 2 of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006). This solid substance has a melting point of 120 °C and starts to decompose at a temperature > 320 °C. Further on, in a DSC analysis up to 250 °C and a TGA up to 1000 °C (section 4.2 Melting point und 4.3 Boiling point) was no self heating of substance Fatty acids, C8-10, zinc salts reported.
