PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

The substance will biodegrade or at least dissociate and lose its identity under conditions in the environment. Malic acid (malate) is considered essential for metabolic processes; these ions are abundant in the natural environment and are not hazardous or accumulative.

Regarding all available data on biotic and abiotic degradation, bioaccumulation and toxicity it can be stated that the substance does not fulfil the PBT criteria (not PBT) and not the vPvB criteria (not vPvB).
