Description of key information

In a study conducted to guideline OECD 302B, the substance 2-butyl-2-ethylpropanediol (BEPD) was 79% biodegraded over 28 days (i.e.> 70%). The substance BEPD is therefore inherently biodegradable.

Additional information

The substance 2 -butyl-2 -ethylpropanediol (BEPD) was not readily biodegradable (60 mg/L) in a study conducted to OECD 301F.

In a study conducted to guideline OECD 302B, the substance BEPD was 79% biodegraded over 28 days (i.e.> 70%). The substance BEPD is therefore considered inherently and ultimately biodegradable. However, the pass level of 70% biodegradation was not achieved within a 7 day window.
