Applicant's summary and conclusion
- Validity criteria fulfilled:
- yes
- Conclusions:
- The 48 hour acute toxicity of BEPD toDaphnia magna wascarried out in a static system according to OECD 202 and EU guidelines. First instar daphnids were exposed over a 48 hour period to BEPD at nominal concentrations of 0 (control) and 100 mg/L. Duplicate, loosely covered vessels, each containing 10 daphnids in 200 ml medium were allocated to each treatment. Concentration of BEPD was verified analytically at test initiation and termination and mean measured concentration was 95 mg/L. Individual pH, temperature and dissolved oxygen values remained within acceptable limits throughout the duration of the study. The 48-hour EC50 was determined to be >100 mg BEPD/L (nominal).
