Additional information

The substance is rapidly hydrolysed to isophthalic acid (IPA) and HCl. The studies used for derivation of the PNECs for ICL are studies done using the major degradate IPA. Therefore, the environmental hazard assessment for this test substance will be based on the primary degradate, isophthalic acid.

Conclusion on classification

The substance has been classified according to EU Classification, Labelling and Packaging of Substances and Mixtures (CLP) Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 as Conclusive but not sufficient for classification.
