Description of key information

The chronic toxicity of N-1,3-dimethylbutyl-N'-phenyl-p-phenylenediamine (6PPD) to fish was tested with Oryzias latipes in a Early-Life Stage Toxicity Test according to OECD Guideline 210. The 30d NOEC is 0.0037 mg/L. ( National Institute of Technology and Evaluation, Japan, 2003)

Additional information

No long-term toxicity study to fish for 77PD is available. 6PPD is an analogues substance. Due to the analogous structure of 6PPD, this study is used in a read-across approach for 77PD. A detailed justification for the read-across is given in a separate document attached to IUCLID chapter 13.

A chronic fish test according to OECD 210 is available for tyre wear particles (Marwood 2010).TWPs are produced containing antioxidants like 7PPD in a concentration of about 1%. Pimephales promelas showed no biological significant effect in a 32-day study concerning hatching success, survival and growth.
