Description of key information

From the water surface, the substance will slowly evaporate into the atmosphere.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Sodium 2 -methylpropan-2 -olate hydrolyses in water to form inorganic sodium hydroxide and tert-butanol. For tert-butanol the Henry's law constant of 1.06 Pa*m3/mol was calculated using HENRYWIN v3.20. From this result it can be concluded that the substance will slowly evaporate from the water surface to the atmosphere.
