Applicant's summary and conclusion

Interpretation of results:
Category 1 (corrosive) based on GHS criteria
Conclusions:
In the experiment arrangement described above, the test item 3-phenylpropan-1-ol was corrosive in the EpiDermTM model.
Executive summary:

Under the experimental design, the average viability of tissues treated with the test item 3-phenylpropan-1-ol was 108.1 % of the negative control average value after 3 minutes treatment and 7.1 % after 60 minutes treatment.

The test item is considered to be corrosive to skin:

ii) if the viability after 3 minutes exposure is greater than or equal to 50 % and the viability after 1 hour exposure is less than 15 %.

In the experiment arrangement described above, the test item 3-phenylpropan-1-ol was corrosive in the EpiDermTM model.
