Key result
Type:
log Pow
Partition coefficient:
> 6.2
Temp.:
25 °C
Remarks on result:
other: pH not specified

In duplicate determinations it was demonstrated that all peaks in the test item chromatograms eluted much later than DDT. Thus the log10Pow value of the test item can be said to be > 6.2 and the equivalent Pow value is >1600000.

Conclusions:
The substance partition coefficient (n-octanol and water) was evaluated in accordance with OECD Guideline 117 and EU Method A.8 via a GLP certified laboratory. The logPow was determined to be > 6.2 at 25 °C.
Executive summary:

The substance partition coefficient (n-octanol and water) was evaluated in accordance with OECD Guideline 117 and EU Method A.8 via a GLP certified laboratory. A limit test was performed as the preliminary estimation had indicated that a high log10Pow value would be anticipated. A solution of the substance (approximately 1 g/L) was prepared and chromatographed alongside the reference substance DDT, which has a known log10Pow value of 6.2 according to EC Method A.8. In duplicate determinations it was demonstrated that all peaks in the test item chromatograms eluted much later than DDT. Thus the log10Pow value of the test item can be said to be > 6.2 and the equivalent Pow value is >1600000. The substance logPow was determined to be > 6.2 at 25 °C.
