Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Toxicity studies in fish, aquatic invertebrates and algae have been conducted for the test substance, glyerine monostearate propoxylated, and are included in the dossier. No toxicity was seen in the ecotoxicity tests (all trophic levels) at the limit of solubility of the test substance.

The key studies are summarised below:

A reliable (Klimisch 1) acute toxicity study with freshwater fish, Onchorhynchus mykiss, and using the test substance, glyerine monostearate propoxylated, is available, with a 96-hour LC50 (mortality) of >2.0 mg/L, based on nominal test concentrations.

A reliable (Klimisch 1) acute toxicity study with the aquatic invertebrate, Daphnia magna, and using the test substance, glyerine monostearate propoxylated, is available, with a 48-hour EC50 of >0.14 mg/L, based on geometric mean measured concentrations.

A reliable (Klimisch 1) study with the freshwater alga, Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata, and using the test substance, glyerine monostearate propoxylated, is available, with a 72-hour ErC50 (growth rate) of >1.1 mg/L, based on geometric mean measured test concentrations.

A reliable (Klimisch 1) toxicity study with micro-organisms for the test substance, glyerine monostearate propoxylated, is available with a 3-hour NOEC of 100 mg/L. EC50 and 95% confidence intervals could not be estimated for the test item as there was no concentration response relationship.
