Description of key information

The key ecotoxicity values to assess the aquatic toxicity of the registered substance zinc cyanide are as follow:

- Short-term toxicity to fish: 96h-LC50 = 1.038 mg/L (based on measured concentrations)

- Short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates: 48h-EC50 = 3.351 mg/L (based on measured concentrations)

- Toxicity to aquatic algae and cyanobacteria: 72h-ErC50 = 0.878 mg/L (based on growth rate, measured concentrations). This value represents the lowest acute E(L)C50 of the dataset.

- Toxicity to microorganisms: 30min-EC50 = 2.3 mg/L

Based on these results, the lowest acute E(L)C50 is below 1 mg/L.
