Additional information

In studies performed according to OECD Guidelines 471 and 474, the genotoxicity was evaluated in Ames and micronucleus tests, respectively (BASF AG, 1989, 1993). In both tests 2,5,6-Trimethyl-2-cylohexen-1-one was found to be negative for inducing genotoxic effects in vitro and in vivo.

Short description of key information:
Genetic toxicity
- in vitro: negative (Ames, OECD 471)
- in vivo: negative (MNT, OECD 474)

Endpoint Conclusion: No adverse effect observed (negative)

Justification for classification or non-classification

Due to results obtained in studies performed according to OECD guidelines, no classification for genotoxicity in vitro and in vivo is required.
