First-aid measures

General advice:

Remove contaminated clothing.

If inhaled:

Keep patient calm, remove to fresh air, seek medical attention.

On skin contact:

Wash thoroughly with soap and water.

On contact with eyes:

Immediately wash affected eyes for at least 15 minutes under running water with eyelids held open, consult an eye specialist.

On ingestion:

Rinse mouth immediately and drink plenty of water, seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media:

foam

Unsuitable extinguishing media:

water

Special protective equipment:

Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and chemical-protective clothing.

Further information:

Fire debris must be disposed of in accordance with official regulations. Keep containers cool by spraying with water if exposed to fire.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions:

Use breathing apparatus if exposed to vapours/dust/aerosol.

Environmental precautions:

Do not empty into drains.

Methods for cleaning up or taking up:

For large amounts: Dike spillage. Pump off product.

For residues: Pick up with suitable absorbent material.

Dispose of absorbed material in accordance with regulations.

Handling and storage

Handling:

Ensure thorough ventilation of stores and work areas.

Protection against fire and explosion:

Prevent electrostatic charge - sources of ignition should be kept well clear - fire extinguishers should be kept handy.

Storage:

Further information on storage conditions: Keep container tightly closed in a cool, well-ventilated place.

None

Personal protective equipment

Respiratory protection:

Wear respiratory protection if ventilation is inadequate. Gas filter EN141 Type A for gases/vapours of organic compounds (boiling point >65 °C).

Hand protection:

Chemical resistant protective gloves (EN 374)

Suitable materials also with prolonged, direct contact (Recommended: Protective index 6, corresponding > 480 minutes of permeation time according to EN 374):

butyl rubber (butyl) - 0.7 mm coating thickness

Suitable materials short-term contact and/or splashes (recommended: At least protective index 2, corresponding > 30 minutes of permeation time according to EN 374)

nitrile rubber (NBR) - 0.4 mm coating thickness

chloroprene rubber (CR) - 0.5 mm coating thickness

Supplementary note: The specifications are based on own tests, literature data and information of glove manufacturers or are derived from similar substances by analogy. Due to many conditions (e.g. temperature) it must be considered, that practical usage of a chemical-protective glove in practice may be much shorter than the permeation time determined in accordance with EN 374.

Eye protection:

Safety glasses with side-shields (frame goggles) (EN 166)

General safety and hygiene measures:

Do not inhale gases/vapours/aerosols. Avoid contact with the skin, eyes and clothing.

Stability and reactivity

Hazardous reactions:

No hazardous reactions if stored and handled as prescribed/indicated.

Hazardous decomposition products:

No hazardous decomposition products if sotred and handled as prescribed/indicated.

Disposal considerations

Observe national and local legal requirements.
