Additional information

The available ecotoxicological information is sufficient to adequately characterise potential hazards of the substance to the environment. Additional ecotoxicological studies are not required.

The substance is not to be classified for environmental hazards on the basis of the available information on ecotoxicology, environmental fate and physical-chemical properties.

Conclusion on classification

The substance 4-phenylbutan-2-one does not meet the criteria for classification as given in Commission Regulation (EU) No 286/2011 amending for the second time Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008. The substance is not to be classified for environmental hazards on the basis of the available information on ecotoxicology, environmental fate and physical-chemical properties. Furthermore no classification applicable according to the specifications as set out in the DSD Regulation.
