Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

No inhibitory toxic effects occurred on growth and reproduction of nematodes (C.elegans) up to nominal concentrations of 5000 mg/kg sediment dry weight (dw). Thus a NOEC of 5000 mg/kg sedi-ment dw based on nominal concentrations was determined. Between 200 and 3200 mg/kg sediment dw, significant stimulatory effects on reproduction occurred. (Hoess 2015)

A study on Eisenia fetida (Senn 2019) resulted in:

NOECMortality ≥ 1000 mg test item/kg soil (dw)

NOECBiomass ≥ 1000 mg test item/kg soil (dw)

NOECReproduction < 1000 mg test item/kg soil (dw)

According to the authors of the study, the test item concentration had revealed a statistically significant decrease of the reproduction compared to the control. Therefore, the NOEC for reproduction was smaller than the limit concentration. (Senn, 2019, SMAS)
