Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The chemical safety assessment (attached to the dossier) demonstrates for all uses of the lifecycle (Formulation, Industrial end-use and Professional end-use), that there is no significant exposure i.e. emissions of the substance into the environmental compartments water, sediment and soil are negligible. Operational conditions (OC) and risk mitigating measures (RMM) define how direct or indirect exposure into the environment is prevented and consequently, exposures are always well below the derived PNEC values.
Additionally, the substance properties, indicate that the substance does not pose a risk for the environment. The substance is readily biodegradable, has no tendency for bioaccumulation and as the substance being a polyfunctional amine it is fully reacted with epoxy resin within short time after use. After reaction, fully cured epoxy resin is formed and release of the reacted substance from the polymer is not possible.
Therefore, in accordance with section 3 of REACH Annex XI Long-term toxicity testing on fish with N,N'-Bis-(3-Aminopropyl)-ethylenediamine is regarded no more necessary due to insignificant exposure which is reported in the CSR.

Therefore, and for reasons of animal welfare, a long-term toxicity in fish is not provided.
