Description of key information
Appearance
The test substance was determined to be a colourless clear liquid at 1013 hPa and 20°C.
Melting point
The melting point of the test substance was determined to be -23.7 °C at 1013.25 hPa.
Boiling point
The boiling point of the test substance was determined to be at 218.4 °C at 1013 hPa
Density
In this weight of evidence approach a study and 5 values from databases/publications/handbooks were taken into account. The study found a range from 1.0620 to 1.0680 g/cm3 for different batches and a mean relative density of 1.0668 g/cm3. All other reported values supported this data.
Particle Size distribution
This physical chemical property was not applicable to the test substance as the substance is a liquid at room temperature.
Vapour pressure
The vapour pressure of the test item was determined to be 0.75 hPa at 20 °C, 1.00 hPa at 25 °C and 3.62 hPa at 50 °C respectively.
Partition coefficient
The logPow was determined to be 1.91 at 21.9 °C and pH=7.
Water solubility
The test substance has a water solubility of 923 mg/L.
Surface tension
This physical chemical property was not applicable to the test substance as the substance did not consist of one or more hydrophilic and hydrophobic groups of such nature and size that it was capable of reducing the surface tension.
Flash point
The flash point was determined to be 99.5 °C at 1013.25 hPa.
Auto flammability
The auto-ignition temperature was determined to be 460 °C at 1008.3 to 1010.9 hPa.
Flammability
The substance was not classified as flammable, flammable in contact with water, pyrophoric and self-heating substance.
Explosiveness
This physical chemical property was not applicable to the test substance as the form and chemical structure of the substance showed no indication for this.
Oxidising properties
This physical chemical property was not applicable to the test substance as the form and chemical structure of the substance showed no indication for this.
Stability in organic solvents
The stability of the test item in organic solvents is not considered as critical.
Storage stability and reactivity towards container material
Based on the chemicals structure the substance has not to be considered for classification as corrosive to metals.
Dissociation constant
The study does not need to be conducted because the substance has no ionic structure.
Self-reactive substances
The test item does not contain any functional groups which may indicate explosive or self-reacting properties.
Organic peroxide
Based on the structure it can be concluded that the test substance is not an organic peroxide.
Corrosive to metals
Based on the structure it can be concluded that the substance is not corrosive to metals.
Gases under pressure
The study does not to be conducted because the substance is a liquid.
