In DSC runs PN15120 and PN15121 the test item showed a small exothermic effect in the temperature range of 440 – 460 °C, with a decomposition energy of approx. -20 J/g. An endothermic effect was detected in the temperature range of 460 – 480 °C. In DSC runs PN15139 and PN15140 the test item only showed an endothermic effect in the temperature range of 460 – 500 °C. No further thermal effects were observed up to the test end temperature of 500 and 600 °C, respectively.

Due to the fact the test item showed a decomposition before reaching its melting point, the test item has no melting or boiling point up to its decomposition starting at a temperature of approx. 440 °C.

Conclusions:
The test item barium di(acetate) has no melting and point up to its decomposition starting at a temperature of approx. 440 °C at atmospheric pressure (1013 hPa) as determined by differential scanning calorimetry according to Regulation EC No. 440/2008 Method A.1.,A.2. and OECD Test Guideline 102 (1995), 103 (1995).
