Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The vapour pressure of the two liquid constituents are: 12.3Pa and 0.8Pa respectively at 25C.

According to the criteria for adaptation of the testing rules, a vapour pressure determination is not required for substances with a melting point above 300C - therefore a vapour pressure for the sodium acetate component is not required.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Vapour pressure:
12.3 Pa
at the temperature of:
25

Additional information

The highest of the key values is chosen as a conservative estimate of the vapour pressure of this multicomponent substance. This component is always likely to be present at a level that will dominate the overall vapour pressure. Sodium acetate, as an inorganic substance, will not have a lower boiling point than either of the organic components and can therefore be ignored for determining the critical value for this end point.
