PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

Persistence Assessment

Ready biodegradability was investigated in a well documented study according to OECD guideline 301B. The test substance reached 71% degradation within 28 days and the 10 day-window was met. Therefore, the substance is readily biodegradable and can not be classified as persistent.

Bioaccumulation Assessment

Due to the very low log pO/W: -4.6 the substance has a very low potential for bioaccumulation. The log PO/Wof the substance is very much lower than the threshold value of the screening criterion (log PO/W<4.5). The B-criterion is not fulfilled.

Toxicity Assessment

The substance is non toxic to mammalian and aquatic organisms. The substance is not classified for environmental toxicity nor as CMR or T, R48 or Xn, R48. It can be concluded that the substance has no toxic properties.

Likely routes of exposure:

The submission substance is not PBT or vPvB. Therefore no emission characterization is required.
