Additional information

In a study according OECD guideline no. 201 the effects of the test item Sodium 2-hydroxyethanesulphonate on the growth of the freshwater green alga Desmodesmus subspicatus were tested.

The concentration of the active ingredient Sodium 2-hydroxyethanesulphonate was analysed in the limit concentration and the control at test start and test end via LC-MS. The measured concentration at test start was 94 % of the nominal value. At the end of the test the test item gave a recovery of 98 %. All effect values are given based on nominal test item concentrations.

No inhibiting effects on specific growth rate and yield were found in the limit concentration of 100 mg/L. The EC50-values for specific growth rate inhibition (ErC50) and inhibition of yield (EyC50) after 72 h were > 100 mg/L.
