Description of key information

L-Arginine is considered not to be corrosive to metals.

Additional information

The corrosiveness of L-arginine was tested in a GLP guideline study according to OPPTS 830.6320 (Corrosion Characteristics, August 1996).

L-Arginine did not influence brass, aluminium, stainless steel, polyethylene and polyethylene terephthalate due to the physical observation and the change in mass. L-Arginine is considered not to be corrosive to metals.

Justification for classification or non-classification

The study showed that L-arginine did not influence brass, aluminium and stainless steel. Therefore, the substance is considered not to be corrosive to metals.
