Description of key information

The melting point of L-arginine is 223 - 224 °C. At 240 - 244°C L-arginine decomposes.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Melting / freezing point at 101 325 Pa:
223 °C

Additional information

Several handbooks provide melting points of L-arginine between 223°C and 244°C. At high melting point values of 240-244°C L-arginine decomposes. For the CSA the lowest value of 223°C is selected.
