Description of key information

- Flammable liquid

- No pyrophoric properties

- Does not liberate flammable gases on contact with water

- The substance is not a self-heating substance or mixture.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
flammable

Additional information

- The flammability of a liquid is derived from flash point and boiling point.

- Based on chemical structure and experience in handling and use of substance the pyrophoric properties and the flammability in contact with water are not to be expected.

- The substance or mixture does not need to be classified as self-heating as the substance is a liquid.

Justification for classification or non-classification

- The substance is a liquid and has a flash point of 31.5°C therefore according to the criteria as outline in the Guidance to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 on CLP of substance and mixtures (Version 5.0, July 2017) the substance has to be classified as "Category 3" with the hazard statement "H226: flammable liquid and vapour"

- Based on chemical structure and experience in handling and use of substance the pyrophoric properties and the flammability in contact with water are not to be expected.
