Description of key information

Waiving of Study:
The study that examines oxidising properties (required in REACH Regulation 1907/2006/EC Annex VII section 7.13), can be omitted in the case of the substance tetrahydromethylphthalic anhydride, as the substance does not contain functional groups that belong to the class of compounds that reveal oxidising properties (refer to “Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment, Chapter R7a). The substance is incapable of reacting exothermically with combustible materials on the basis of the chemical structure (the oxygen containing this substance are not chemically bond to nitrogen or oxygen).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Oxidising properties:
no

Additional information

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on the structure of the molecule and taking into account the provisions laid down in Council Directive 67/548/EEC and Annex VI of CLP, tetrahydromethylphthalic anhydride does not have to be classified with respect to oxidising properties.
