Description of key information

In accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex VII, the determination of the water solubility (required in section 7.7) does not need to be conducted as tetrahydromethylphthalic anhydride hydrolytically unstable in water (see IUCLID5 section 5.1.2). The measurement of the water solubility is technically not feasible (see supporting study).

Additional information

The study does not need to be conducted as tetrahydromethylphthalic anhydride hydrolytically is unstable in water (see IUCLID5 section 5.1.2). The measurement of the water solubility is technically not feasible. As the result of HPLC analysis, no peak was observed at peak position of the test item in test solution after agitation, and the peak considered to be the hydrolysed product was detected. Therefore, it is considered that the test item was hydrolysed, it is thought that measurement was impossible. Moreover, the pH of the test solution was 2.3.
