The mean vapor pressure for D-mannose at 20 ± 1ºC was 1.66 x 10-5 ± 2.40 x 10-5 Pa (N = 3, CV = 144%) using the spinning rotor gauge method. This result was well below the recommended range of the spinning rotor gauge method (10-4 Pa to 0.5 Pa) (1). The high variation of the measurements support the conclusion that the vapor pressure was within the background of the instrumentation. Therefore, the vapor pressure of D-mannose at 20 ± 1°C is less than the mean measured vapor pressure of the reference material, benzoic acid, used to verify the instrument (5.72 x 10-2 Pa ± 5.60 x 10-3 Pa (N = 6, CV = 9.8%).

Conclusions:
This study and the conclusions which are drawn from it fulfil the quality criteria (validity, reliability, repeatability).
The test substance was found to have a vapour pressure of 1.66 x 10-5 Pa at 20°C.
Executive summary:

The vapour pressure was measured in accordance with OECD guideline 104 using the spinning rotor gauge method.

The test substance was found to have a vapour pressure of 1.66 x 10 -5 Pa at 20°C.
