Experimental studies on the effects of sodium perborate on terrestrial organisms are not available. However, to to the instability of the substance in aqueous media and the low potential for adsorption, tests on the toxicity to terrestrial organisms are scientifically not justified.

The most sensitive effect value on the toxicity of boric acid on terrestrial organisms reviewed by ECB (2009, Assessment Report Boric acid. Product-type 8 (Wood preservative). 20 February 2009) was Hordeum vulgare with a 120d-NOEC of 2 mg B/kg dw.
