Description of key information

highly flammable liquid.
The substance has no pyrophoric properties and does not liberate flammable gases on contact with water.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

highly flammable

Additional information

Substance is a highly flammable liquid. GHS - Flammable liquid Category 2. Flammability derived from flash point and boiling point. Based on chemical structure pyrophoric properties and flammability in contact with water are not to be expected.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Flash point < 23 °C and boiling point > 35 °C. GHS flammable liquid Cat. 2

As the flash point of 23 °C of the teat substance is a borderline result for Categories 2 or 3 and one reported FP value (albeit not selected as key) was <23 °C, the harmonised CLP classification Flamm Liq 2 is considered appropriate.
