Description of key information

The Log Pow for 2,3-epoxypropyl neodecanoate was measured experimentally by the "Shake-Flask" HPLC method and estimated by QSAR modeling.  Log Pow values ranged from approximately 2.6 to 4.4

The "Shake-Flask" reverse-phase HPLC experimentally determined Low Pow for 2,3 -epoxypropyl neodecanaote was 4.4. Various QSAR model estimations ranged from approximately 2.6 to 3.7. The KOWWIN subroutine of EPIWIN estimated a Log Pow of approximately 2.6 for the diol form of 2,3 -epoxypropyl neodecanoate. Since the epoxide group is rapidly hydrolyzed under aqueous conditions, the Log Pow of 2.6 is more environmentally relevant for estimating bioaccumulation potential. The weight-of-evidence suggest that 2,3 -epoxypropyl neodecanoate has a relativel low potential to bioaccumulate in aquatic organisms.
