Studies are available for ready biodegradability and adsorption of phenylethyl acetate. In a 28 -day OECD 301F study the test substance was found to be 72% degraded and thus is considered to be readily biodegradable. An OECD 121 HPLC adsorption screening study found that the log Koc of the substance was 1.91 (Koc= 80.9). This indicates that phenylethyl acetate will be highly mobile in soil. Bioaccumulation studies were not considered necessary as the substance has a low potential fow accumulation (log Kow= 2.4) and further studies on degradation were not required as the substance was already shown to be readily biodegradable.
