Additional information

A QSAR was carried out to estimate the toxicity of phenylethyl acetate to fish. The QSAR was carried out with ECOSAR v1.0. This estimated the toxicity of the substance based on measured toxicity values for other chemicals with ester groups. From this the 96-hour LC50 to fish was estimated to be 10.5 mg/l. As this is higher than the ECOSAR estimated EC50 for green algae, which experimental toxicity values are available for, it is deemed unneccessary to carry out further experimental testing on fish.
