Description of key information

In accordance with section 7.15 of Column 1 of Annex IX, the study is only required if the stability of the substance is considered to be critical. A study on the stability of a test substance in an organic solvent is normally undertaken in support of studies in which the substance is dissolved in an organic solvent to confirm whether the test substance is stable under the storage conditions for the duration of the storage. For 2,6-Xylenol these stability determinations are considered to be included in the studies where relevant. Therefore, it is considered justified to omit further studies to determine the stability of 2,6-Xylenol in organic solvents.
