Additional information

Two key studies are included to address this endpoint; both were awarded a reliability score of 1 in accordance with the criteria set forth by Klimisch et al. (1997).

In the first study, the physical state and appearance of the registered material was assessed as part of the study carried out to assess its spectral characteristics. The laboratory identified 2,6-Xylenol as brown coloured crystals.

The other data provided to address this endpoint is a statement by the registrant as to the physical state and appearance of the substance. The substance is produced as a liquid (temperature above the melting point) and changes into a molten mass at room temperature. Normally it is clear, but can discolour to off yellow/brown.
