Bis(2-ethylhexyl) hydrogen phosphate causes corrosion to the cornea.
Applicant's summary and conclusion
- Interpretation of results:
- irritating
- Remarks:
- Migrated information
- Executive summary:
100 µl bis(2-ethylhexyl) hydrogen phosphate was applied into the conjuctival sac of 2 rabbits. Post exposure time was 7 days. Eyes were examinated after application of bis(2-ethylhexyl) hydrogen phosphate up to 7 days.
Bis(2-ethylhexyl) hydrogen phosphate was highly irritating to the eye and corrsive to the cornea. Effects on the cornea, conjunctiva and chemosis were persistent up to the end of the observation period (7 days).
Therefore a classification as R41 is justified.
