Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The substance cyclohexanol is expected to be rapidly degradable and non-persistent in the environment. Due to its low octanol-water partition coefficient, cyclohexanol has low potential for bioaccumulation and is not expected to adsorb to the solid phase in soil and sediment.

Additional information

After release into the environment, cyclohexanol may be degraded abiotically by photodegradation in air or via biodegradation in water or soil (substance is readily biodegradable according to OECD criteria). Cyclohexanol exhibits no potential for hydrolysis. Due to the low log Pow (1.25), accumulation in organisms is not to be expected. Furthermore, the substance is not expected to adsorb to suspended solids and sediment. The substance will evaporate from water surfaces into air to a limited extent (Henry´s Law constant = 0.446 Pa m3/mol).
