For Mecoprop-P n-octyl ester the calculated half-life related to the atmospheric oxidation is 17.6 hours.


Existing data on structural analoges, racemic Mecoprop isooctyl ester (MCPP IOE) and Mecoprop-P 2-ethylhexyl ester (MCPP-P 2-EHE), revealed that Mecoprop-P n-octyl ester should be stable in sterile buffers but hydrolysed fast in natural water.

For the hydrolysis product Mecoprop-P acid (MCPP-P acid) no hydrolytic degradation was observed within 31 days.
